Perfect weather for the stock market at the Dübendorf Airfield

What does it take to attract as many model builders as possible to the model swap meet in Dübendorf? Apparently, it’s the early-morning fog, followed by the sun slowly breaking through, which by noon brings a blue sky with a few clouds and pleasant temperatures. On November 3, 2018, these exact weather conditions prevailed once again.

The offer is becoming more and more attractive

Once the craze for ready-made Chinese foam models had died down, it was once again common to see more model airplanes made of wood and plastic film in just about every condition—from kit models to ready-to-fly models that had just been flown in.

Compared to the past, prices have dropped somewhat. This may be due to the very large supply. As a result, the market has become even more attractive to some buyers. An increasing number of accessories—such as motors, batteries, remote controls, and many other components—are also available.

Plenty of space for sales

Thanks to the nice weather, the tables in the hall weren’t as crowded as they used to be when it rained or was cold. This allowed the items on display indoors to stand out better. As a result, shoppers could get a quick overview and then snap up a deal right away at the right price. Many model builders also come to the swap meet to meet fellow hobbyists. For this purpose, there’s a food stand in the hall, as well as numerous benches and tables that invite people to eat and drink together.
