Swiss F3B RC Glider Championship in Utzenstorf

The championship took place in September under good weather conditions. However, following the briefing on Saturday, the start had to be postponed to 10 a.m. due to light fog. With a slight breeze blowing from the Bisen, the endurance flight could begin, and completing the 10-minute task proved to be no easy feat.

Niklaus Huggler won the first round with the fastest speed of 15.38 seconds and the 1,000-meter mark in the cross-country flight. Close behind were Andreas Böhlen, Andreas, and Roland Sutter. Markus Splanemann won the second round ahead of Thomas Kübler and Roland Hofmann. Amid shifting wind conditions, Stefan Böhlen won the third round ahead of Andreas Böhlen, who now took the lead in the overall standings. Hansruedi Zwingli won the fourth round ahead of Renato Maric, and in the fifth round, Andreas Böhlen set the championship’s fastest speed of 14.61 seconds for the four 150-meter runs and took the win. →

With sunny weather and pleasant temperatures, the championship was able to come to a close on Sunday afternoon. I’d especially like to thank MG-Langenthal for their great support and all the volunteers for their hard work. I’d also like to thank the Böhlen family for their willing assistance. I’d also like to thank Markus Heer and his team for the prompt and efficient scoring.

The following models were flown: Fosa and Fosa Lift, Hurricane, Shooter, Cyril, Stinger, Target, and Tanga. Andreas Böhlen won both the Euro Tour and the World Cup—these extraordinary achievements also deserve the utmost respect!

*Congratulations
