1977 World Championships in RC Aerobatics (F3A) in Springfield, Ohio / USA
- Only three Europeans left in the top ten!
- At his fourth World Championship, Hanno Prettner finally wins the title.
- The U.S. team takes the gold medal in the team competition for the sixth time and is virtually unbeatable here as well—just as it is in RC gliding (F3B).
- The Swiss team, consisting of brothers Bruno and Emil Giezendanner and René Schumacher, finished in a solid 4th place
.- Once again, Bruno Giezendanner was the top Swiss finisher, placing 13th
.- Extreme heat and humidity proved to be the enemy of engines and certain RC systems.
- No frequency problems and no crashes.
- Exemplary radio monitoring, regardless of the brand of the RC systems.
- Noise measurements were conducted for the first time—but no penalties were imposed.
- Read the detailed special report in our next issue, No. 4/77!
