"Grindelwald Flies" Model Helicopter Show!

“Grindelwald Takes Flight!”—under this title, an event featuring model helicopters was held on May 15, 2022, at the Glacier Gorge after a two-year hiatus. We wanted to showcase our beautiful, versatile hobby to spectators, especially our fellow villagers. The MG team was highly motivated and spared no effort to ensure a successful event. In addition to our members, colleagues and friends of the Grindelwald Model Flying Club were invited to bring their models. Also in attendance was the Grindelwald Hunting and Wildlife Protection Association, which demonstrated its new drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera for rescuing fawns from mowers. Thanks in part to the beautiful weather, our efforts were rewarded with a large turnout of satisfied, enthusiastic spectators. All kinds of model helicopters—trainers, scale helicopters, and multicopters (drones)—were demonstrated both on the ground and in the air. The small refreshment stand was bustling with visitors, and there was plenty of opportunity to chat with the pilots.
