Delémont Model Aircraft Club in the Jura

2

Four years after its last international meet, the Delsberg Model Aircraft Club is organizing a special exhibition on April 14 and 15, 2007. The newly built community center provides an excellent venue to showcase our club’s activities.

Thanks to this opportunity, the club has spent several months preparing this demonstration. One of our goals is to share our passion for model aircraft with others. This year, we want to surprise visitors and introduce something new. Visitors will be able to admire all aspects of model aviation, from jet aircraft to gliders—not to mention helicopters. We’re proud to feature the exclusive, extraordinary Bucker built by Andreas Lüthi, with which he has won the F4C World Championship twice. Olivier Cortat’s unusual Pilatus PC12 stands out with its turbojet engine, which looks just like the real, full-size model. This model is 4.5 meters long and showcases remarkable technology. More than 100 models from all over Switzerland will amaze guests with their intricate craftsmanship and beauty.

As a special exception—and for the first time in the Jura—the virtual Patrouille Suisse will present an extraordinary show. This team consists of pilots using a simulator and will stage a breathtaking spectacle on a giant screen. Spectators will experience the flight as if from a real cockpit. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to admire flying model airplanes. Various demonstrations will take place indoors throughout the weekend. The world of electric aviation has recently undergone a revolution, so it’s now quite common to fly airplanes and helicopters weighing just a few grams in small rooms or sports halls and perform amazing aerobatic maneuvers. Of course, the audience will have the chance to sit down at simulators to fly model airplanes or helicopters—risk-free, but with plenty of fun. Various films will be shown throughout the event, allowing visitors to follow along with our summer activities. Refreshments will be available at any time during the exhibition.
