Circular Flight Season-Ending Gathering in Oberriet, SG

Upon arrival, due to the persistent rain, we were served coffee after a warm welcome. Thanks to a heated clubhouse with a covered porch, we were able to make our first connections and spend the morning talking shop. Before we knew it, the first half of the day had flown by, and it wasn’t until our stomachs started growling that we realized it was time for lunch. Here, too, our friends from Eastern Switzerland spared no effort to serve us warmly, and we’d like to take this opportunity to once again express our heartfelt thanks for their hospitality.

Around noon, the weather finally began to clear up, which quickly prompted us to take the models out of the cars and put into action what we had discussed that morning. So, together, we were still able to complete a few flights on the superbly prepared airfield at MG Oberriet. It’s also worth noting that the airfield had been reserved especially for this event by the hospitable club, and the pilots in attendance clearly enjoyed seeing a different category of aircraft flying on their airfield for a change.

Once again, it has become clear what a few dedicated individuals, firmly committed to the cause, can accomplish. The resulting exchange of ideas and the friendships formed are always of great value. We hope that this closing flight can be repeated once again under the best possible conditions. On behalf of the District Flight Committee of MG Oberriet, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks for this bold initiative and for the wonderful day we were able to spend among like-minded friends.
