70 Years of the F1E Swiss Championships, 2013. See also the history section on page 57.

On October 13, 2013, the Swiss F1E Championship took place in Gansingen.

The weather was exactly as forecast: cloudy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon. The wind was quite variable, mostly from the southwest, light in the morning, stronger in the afternoon. Faster models had to be used for the last two flights.

Since the competition was postponed by one week, only 18 of the 21 registered pilots competed.

The first three flights were limited to 4 minutes, and the next two to 5 minutes. Of 88 flights, 70 reached the full time limit, even though the conditions (occasional tailwinds...) weren’t necessarily very favorable. Eight participants competed in the

a tiebreaker. The launch point was set approximately 50 meters lower, and the time was limited to 7 minutes. The winner flew for 336 seconds.

Anniversary: Werner Hauenstein and Maurice Bodmer competed as teenagers in the 1943 National Championships in Blauen in the EK and BP categories, and in the 2013 Swiss F1E Championships in Gansingen. Bm
