Northeast Region 4×S Flying 2008

It was a great idea and a wonderful air show with perfect weather—no stress, no massive logistical effort, and no huge crowds. From my perspective, this air show finally brought us back to the roots of such events:

• Keeping costs, effort, and the burden on the club and its members as low as possible
• Discussing and flying… and flying again—these were prioritized as much as possible.

On October 12, 2008, the members of the Winterthur Model Flying Club, led by René Kobelt, invited everyone to the first 4×S flying event ...

...and the model glider pilots came from near and far.

There was plenty to discuss and talk shop about...

The tow pilots and their models were both “styled” and almost eerily “eager to be towed.”

There was plenty to discuss and talk shop about... But what particularly delighted me was our lovely and knowledgeable towing assistant, who tirelessly helped us attach the tow rope to our model sailboats.
