45th International F3A Friendship Fly-In at MG Flaachtal

When the weather and the flying field are right, any competition is a success. This year’s F3A Friendship Fly-In benefited from both—and from the excellent turnout as well. The national teams from France and Switzerland were almost fully represented, including the reigning European champion, Christophe Paysan-Le Roux from France. Once again, the SMV’s scoring system proved to be excellent—thank you very much. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers from MG Flaachtal for their tremendous dedication, the team of judges for their impeccable work, and the pilots for their disciplined and fair sportsmanship.

Thank you. F3A is not only the oldest world championship in an FAI remote-control category, but also the oldest aerobatics class. Today, new

aerobatics classes are emerging, and F3A has been declared dead so many times, yet thanks to modern technology and an excellent selection of ready-to-fly or semi-

models, it has expanded its prominence around the world. A cause for celebration for the aerobatics community.
