*we.fly*-Family Day 2019

As part of the Swiss Model Aviation Association’s we.fly project, the MG Koblenz-Glattal club demonstrated the fascination of model aviation to audiences of all ages for the third consecutive year on June 29.

At the “Bergzelg” airfield on the border between the municipalities of Klingnau and Koblenz, the heat was impossible to ignore. Although these weather conditions had little impact on the models’ flight, it wasn’t easy to spot them at higher altitudes. The sun was blinding, and the pilot—as the remote-control operators are generously called—had to step out of the shade of the umbrella to get a clear view. With wise foresight, the organizers led by Michi Stürmer had set up plenty of shaded areas. These were soon taken over by curious families with a delightful number of children. Also present was “Mister we.fly himself,” Jörg U. Wille, who conducted the prize drawing. The drawing awarded the children “only” caps, while the grand prize—a large model kit donated by Martin Thürkauf—went to an adult.
