MG Buttikon Summer Activity Pass

Divided into three groups, the children were introduced to our hobby.

On the flight simulator, they were able to practice how to fly a model airplane. We noticed that some of the children had already had their first experiences with this at home on the computer. In addition, the “gaming generation” finds it easier to handle a remote control.

Using a teacher-student control cable, with support from a club member of MG Buttikon, they were able to fly a real model. It was a bit more challenging to maintain the necessary concentration in this situation.

As the most basic activity, the children built their own small glider under guidance, which they then used to compete in a contest.

For lunch, MG Buttikon treated each child to a grilled sausage with bread and a drink. This sparked lively discussions before the activities continued.

To wrap things up, the aforementioned competition was on the agenda. The goal was to see which plane would fly the farthest. After a few attempts to figure out how to launch such a model into the air, the competition began. Everyone gave it their all.

After the results were announced, we took a group photo with all the children and volunteers. As the children were picked up by their parents, we saw their enthusiastic reactions—they had so much to share; that’s the reward for all of us.

Some parents then asked what it takes to join a club.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the ten colleagues from MG Buttikon who took a day off work.

Our time spent on this initiative was well worth it.
