Organization of the FAI F3P Indoor Aerobatics World Championship
The Organizing Committee is pleased to host the 2025 Indoor Aerobatics World Championships on behalf of the Swiss Model Flying Association, the Swiss Aero Club, and the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the world air sports federation.
The FAI is responsible for overseeing the World Championship. Peter Uhlig, as the F3-RC Aerobatics Coordinator for the FAI Aeromodeling Commission (CIAM), has been providing the Organizing Committee with advice and support since the planning phase began. Together with him, the weekly schedule was drawn up, the judges and jury were assigned, and all details regarding the competition were finalized. Peter Uhlig will also chair the jury, which includes Antonis Papadopoulos (CIAM President) and our experienced Swiss judge and aerobatics expert Claude Suter.
Internationally experienced judges recognized by CIAM will be serving as judges. They were selected based on the participating countries and regions. Switzerland will be represented by Roland Galley, who has served as a judge in the aerobatics categories at countless World Championships. Other judges come from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Japan, Lithuania, Austria, and other countries. The assignment of judges can be viewed on the World Championships website under Competition – Officials – Judges.
Today, a major event like this can no longer be financed by entry fees alone, even though all the work involved in organizing and running the event is done on a volunteer basis. We are therefore very pleased and grateful for the generous support from our associations, cantonal agencies, surrounding municipalities, businesses, as well as model aircraft enthusiasts and friends who serve as personal patrons. This allows us to balance our overall budget, which totals just over CHF 70,000.
We would be delighted to welcome additional model aircraft enthusiasts and friends as individual sponsors. A contribution of CHF 50 or more can make a significant difference to our efforts. The sponsorship package includes a meal voucher during the week and the sponsor’s name listed on the website.

The Indoor Aerobatics World Championship will take place from Sunday, February 2, through Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the triple-purpose hall at the Burkertsmatt Widen AG Sports Center. Several FAI F3P World Cups have already been held at this venue as the Swiss Open Indoor Masters (SOIM).

Visitors are warmly welcome
. For model airplane enthusiasts, every day of the event is worth a visit. During the week, there tend to be fewer people, which leaves plenty of room for participants and visitors to meet and chat. On opening day (Feb. 2), Youth Day (Feb. 5), the AP Final Round (Feb. 7), and especially on Public Day and the AFM Final Day (Feb. 8), there will be large crowds, but there will also be plenty of action. Food and drinks will be available every day. Admission is free every day. We look forward to seeing you there.
