Founding with Successful Results

On December 12, 1981, the Westamt-Uetendorf Model Aircraft Club held its founding meeting

As early as Ascension Day, May 20, 1982, the first Möntschelen Cup was held on the Möntschelenalp. In 2007, 2010, and 2011, 2016, and 2018, the Möntschelen Cup could not be held due to bad weather. In 2020 and 2021, it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since 2002, we have also been hosting the Swiss RCS Slope Championship.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the trip to join us at Möntschelenalp.

A very special thank you goes to the members of the Signau Model Flying Club.

The members of the Signau Model Flying Club provide us with active support. They help set up and take down the infrastructure, assist us during the competition, and participate as pilots in both the Möntschelen Cup and the Swiss RCS-Hang Championship. Members of the model flying clubs in Münchenbuchsee, Riggisberg, Thun, Frutigen, Interlaken, and Basilisk have been loyal participants in the Möntschelen Cup since the very beginning and can be found here on the Möntschelenalp year after year.

Now we’re hoping for a wonderful Ascension Day on May 26—almost exactly 40 years to the day after the first Möntschelen Cup. Even after 40 years, we’re still very much looking forward to seeing you all.

The Westamt-Uetendorf Model Aircraft Club and its volunteers from Signau will once again do their very best in 2022 to ensure that we all have an unforgettable day.
