The Noise Ombudswoman

There is now a new noise ombudswoman. It would be interesting to conduct a study on the reasons why a woman would accept such a position. In a society of children who have lost their individuality, it has become fashionable to make the weak even weaker by stripping them of the responsibility—or the opportunity—to act on their own or defend themselves. The motto is: “Together I am strong; alone I am nobody.” The new slogan is self-realization—alternative, autonomous—what a paradox when it’s all about “money, and right now.” Independence, yes—but financial independence as well. Well, there are already so many who feed off the “state’s bosom,” and surely a frustrated politician can be found who, as a political token, will find a loophole to have a semi-official position financed by the state. Long live the noise-complaining “mom”—“baaa, I’ll tell Mommy.”

If you have any problems, I’ll gladly give you the “Nuggi”—it’s a phone number starting with 01 and a postal check account number for financial support. Surely this institution, too, will find its way in the coming years into one of the 2,000 pages—on average per year—of new federal regulations that the federal government offers citizens annually as an alternative form of deprivation of liberty. I’m not serious, but model building needs to be subsidized quickly and subito—for four-stroke engines. After all, according to the latest demands, there’s enough money in the banks, isn’t there!? Yours, Siegfried Schmid

*The Noise Ombudswoman is not a government agency, but rather an organization affiliated with the Swiss Society for Environmental Protection (SGU). This does not, however, change the principle. Editorial staff.*
