Where did they go? GAM2000

The smell of the suckling pig roasting on the grill fills the air. Slowly but steadily, people are arriving for the social gathering. It’s a beautiful spring day with pleasant temperatures—the kind of day when people love to be outdoors and spend time with friends.

At the bar, the first group of colleagues is chatting about everything under the sun—the main thing is that everyone’s having a good time. On the airfield, a few enthusiasts are having fun with maneuvers that are probably quite daring, judging by the laughter. Not to mention the ladies who have come along, who are engaged in pleasant conversations—whatever the topic, there’s no room for boredom.

Then comes lunch: a delicacy that melts in your mouth; not a sound to be heard, just a sense of pure pleasure filling the air.

The afternoon unfolds in a pleasant atmosphere until late afternoon, when the first people start heading home. A happy, successful day that will surely linger in their minds until they fall asleep. That’s how it was in 2016.

And today, in 2022?

There’s the club, there’s the social gathering, and there’s even spring—with a cloudy but pleasant day. All of this should be enough to promise a good time.

But instead of expecting a large turnout of members, the parking lot is empty and deserted.

What has driven people to withdraw from social life? What’s the trigger?

Do you think the two years of the pandemic have contributed to changing people so much?

These are questions that will likely become clearer in the future.

In any case, it’s a shame that there were only five people.

Too few to catch a whiff of the suckling pig right there.
