The Gäu Model Aircraft Club has invited members to its 14th Open Fly-in and 5th Radial Engine Meet.

In beautiful weather, the Gäu Model Flying Club welcomed 55 pilots on Saturday. After the briefing, the pilots were able to register. Then flight operations got off to a brisk start. The Swiss Akro Connection was also in attendance and performed their “Akro-Karussell” program twice for the large crowd of visitors. As always
, our two members, Maik Stuber and Daniel Affolter from the Swiss Formation Team, showcased their flawless routine with their Albatros L39s (82 kg), which included flying smiley faces into the blue sky. Of course, we mustn’t forget the many other pilots who performed flawless flights with their models. The display included 3D helicopters, aerobatic aircraft, and Depron models. There was something for the kids, too: small tiles were dropped from a model, which the numerous children were able to collect. In the evening, at 6:00 p.m., free mushroom risotto was served to all pilots and the many guests and visitors in attendance, while supplies lasted, which was very well received. The 30 kg were eaten up in no time.

On Sunday, a total of 28 pilots made their way to our event. Twenty-two model aircraft with radial engines were presented to the audience in true-to-scale detail. We wanted to showcase the full range of model aircraft again that day, so the pilots mentioned earlier were able to fly their routines once more. Everything went perfectly on both days. The board would like to thank the safety officers who were responsible for ensuring the safety of flight operations
. Safety is a top priority for the MfVGäu. There were no crashes or accidents, so we would like to thank all pilots for their disciplined flying. The Gäu Model Flying Club would like to thank all pilots, guests, and visitors for their large turnout and looks forward to next year. The date for this event has already been set. It will take place on September 13–14, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m.
