A very special anniversary celebration at Alp Scheidegg above Wald, ZH

6

The Alp Scheidegg Model Gliding Club was founded 50 years ago. It has been even longer—75 years, to be exact—since a glider last took off from Alp Scheidegg.

For us at the Alp Scheidegg Model Gliding Club, this is reason enough to celebrate these two anniversaries with a very special event. Among other things, we’d like to offer visitors the chance to step back in time to the early years of gliding and experience rubber-launched flights in vintage gliders. Definitely not something you see every day! The aerobatic flight in a PC11—better known as the legendary Pilatus B4—is sure to be a highlight as well. Of course, model glider demonstrations are also on the program. The Deltaclub Zürcher Oberland (DCZO) will also be there; its members appreciate the excellent conditions at this unique site in the Zürcher Oberland. More highlights are planned—let us surprise you! It’s definitely worth a visit! Of course, our food and beverage stand will also be there to cater to our guests’ needs.

This event takes place in the pre-Alpine region. Organizing it is quite a challenge—especially since parking spaces are limited. A shuttle bus will be available. By the way, a hike up to Alp Scheidegg would also be a great option!

A request to all our visitors: Whenever possible, please carpool—for our sake and for the sake of the environment. We look forward to your visit.
