46th International F3A Friendship Fly-In of the NOS Region, hosted by MV Pfäffikon ZH
This year, with 16 pilots, the turnout was not particularly impressive. Since the venue changes every year, the participants—just as they do at World and European Championships—must constantly readjust. This required flexibility—constantly adapting to new venues and organizers—is one of the most important prerequisites, especially for aerobatic pilots. The weather on the second day of the competition made further flights impossible, so the final had to be canceled without a replacement event.
Once again, the top Swiss competitor was Reto Schumacher, who finished right behind Wolfgang Matt (Liechtenstein). Third-place finisher Sacha Müller from France surprised everyone with his excellent flights. He must surely be counted among the most talented junior pilots today.

Let’s hope we’ll be able to continue hosting the only FAI World Cup in the F3A aerobatics class in Switzerland. Many thanks to MV Pfäffikon for organizing the event and to Region NOS for its financial support. For the rankings, see: www.modellflug.ch
